At Evansville Animal Control phone # 812 435 6015

Hello Everyone,  THIS MALE HAS BEEN FOSTERED

  • Young (2-3) year old neutered male
  • Medium in color
  • Pretty nice looking for a pet golden
  • Some manners, sit and walks on the leash
  • Likes people
  • Was in with another dog so he appears to like other dogs
  • Was found wandering the streets over on Eichel, apparently had been doing so for a while because he is on the thin side.
  • Unfortunately animal control does not test for heartworm so we do not know if he is positive or not
  • All in all very likeable

I am doing fantastic....I have went through my heartworm treatments with flying colors.  I have a 6 month checkup in the fall of the year.  Dr. Catessays that I am completely cured of the Heartworms and the Microfilaria in my blood stream.  I am a happy camper.  I am able to run and play like I did went I was younger.  I have a 14 year old buddy named Weston.  He is a White West Highland Terrier.  He keeps up with me pretty good.  Our owner John is very lucky to have both of us as his
buddies.  Many thanks for my Rescue!  I will now live out a long and happy life...thanks to Dr. Cates at St. Joe Vet Clinic and the SIGRC Rescue! And....By the way....I will be learning to swim in the pool with Emily and Sarah....real soon!  Sunday July 29, 2007 I had my Eye, Heart and Microchip Exam sponsored by SIGRC.  Doctors Cecil Moore and Alan W. Hahn, both DVM from Missouri University-Columbia, said I have good eyes and a very good heart.  My check was at Lafe E. Nichols DVM  Veterinary Medical Center in Henderson, Kentucky.

        Pete Needs a Home! "
PETE MAY HAVE FOUND A HOME?
Update on Pete's new home below!
                         Pictured below is Pete

Pete is a 6 year old male who weights approx 70 lbs.  He is a compact, energetic, strong boy. Pete is housebroken, good with children, loves taking walks, enjoys riding in the car, and has lots of personality. Pete has been playing with 2 girl golden's over the past few months and they have become fast friend.  Pete is a confident boy who felt right at home in his new surrounds in just 3 weeks.  He is now use to seeing/hearing/smelling goats, dogs, cats, raccoons, peacocks, bunnies, ducks and deer.  He takes going to different places with his foster parents in stride and views the trips as an adventure with no hesitation. He is craving to be with a loving family who wants their pet dog to be with them always.  Pete does possess a very confident personality.  He is very smart and he knows what he wants so it will be important for his new family to establish the rules and be consistent in their guidance/training and relationship with him.  Pete did need to be heartworm treated but came through the procedure with flying colors.  He is now on preventive medicine.  He has not yet been neutered, however, we do have a neutering certificate which will cover the cost of having that procedure done.    He is looking for a family who can give him plenty of attention and love.  Putting Pete in a backyard and only interacting with him once a day will not work for this boy.  For Information Contact:
Phyllis Newman (Cell..812-305-5658 or Home..812-853-8045)

UPDATE ON PETE!  PETE HAS A NEW HOME!

Pete has found a home on the North side of Evansville with a Yellow Lab Jesse.  They have begun to walk together side by side and go on controlled bike rides with the owners.  Thanks to Phyllis for fostering Pete!  Pete was adopted by Doug and Krystal Duncan.

PRATT AND WHITNEY NEED A HOME

                  PRATT                                          WHITNEY                                PRATT AND WHITNEY

Hello, I am writing on behalf of two lovely Golden Retrievers that were surrendered to our shelter (Bloomington Animal Care & Control) in Bloomington, Indiana. "Whitney" and "Pratt" are purebred Goldens, 3 1/2 years of age, and given up by an owner due to a divorce. They are both males, neutered, and are littermates. These dogs are typical Goldens - very sweet, social, and lovely companions. They were kept as outside dogs, so some training is needed, but they are SO willing. Whitney is completely healthy and has passed his temperament test. The owner told us that Pratt has a torn ACL, which will require surgery to repair it, but is otherwise healthy.  Unfortunately, we do not have the means to get Pratt the surgery that he needs and that means that he is at high risk for euthanasia. We would love to see Pratt (at least) go into a rescue so that he could either receive the medical attention that he needs or get adopted into a home with Golden experience that would be willing to take care of his leg.  If you could contact me at your earliest convenience via email or at the phone number 812-349-3489 regarding the possibility of accepting these fabulous dogs into rescue, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you!

UPDATE NUMBER ONE July 23, 2007

Hello all,

I just wanted to provide another quick update. Pratt passed his temperament test with flying colors today and we have no doubt that he will make a fantastic companion for someone. We took in a large number of dogs today, again, and it looks like we will continue to see this sort of intake. We did send out a foster plea on these two dogs so that they will live in someone's home while awaiting rescue; hopefully, a foster parent will step forward to help relieve our problematic lack of kennel space at this time.

Please feel free to contact me via email or at the phone number (812) 349-3489. If I am not there, Laurie Ringquist, the director of the shelter, will also be able to answer any questions.

UPDATE NUMBER TWO JULY 26, 2007

Pratt (with the bad ACL) will be going to New England, to a lab rescue that will give him the surgery that he needs. Whitney will be going to a rescue in Evansville that will treat him for Heart Worms and place him for adoption.Thank you again for posting these two deserving dogs - we all feel better knowing they will be taken care of now.

CHAMP HAS FOUND A HOME!
We will have updates on his new home soon!

My name is Champion, or as my buddies call me "Champ".

I am a 6 year old male Golden Retriever. I am neutered and up to date on shots. I’m an inside dog that lives in Evansville, IN. I get along with children, cats and other dogs. I do have an allergy to fleas, I was tested for heartworms, but have not gotten my test back. I am not showing any signs of it, so that is good news. I know how to sit ,walk on a leash and know some other commands. My owners are moving, on July 21st. and cannot take me. They are trying to find me a home so I do not end up in a shelter. I need to find a home quickly, so I don’t get locked up. If you want to give a nice friendly, tail wagging Golden a home. Or if you know of a foster home for a few weeks, until I can find a home.  Please email:      sportsmomof227@yahoo.com
or fwd this on in case somebody you know might know of a home.

Thanks Champ and Golden Rescue in Evansville IN
